Savage Gulf State Natural Area Hammock Camping (VIDEO)

Handyman, Flatbill and I go out on an epic 3 day/2 night adventure for our Cold Butt Hang in the beautiful Savage Gulf State Natural Area. We southern boys tackle some new lows and I bring out the new DutchWare Chameleon to test out. Hope you enjoy the video!

This is such a beautiful area. I did this Colins Gulf trail in and out in August two years ago and I thought i was going to die. That trip out was hard on an old man like me and I got dehydrated which didn't help much either Just as a point of reference Suter falls was a trickle and Swoon Spring wasn't. We found a small puddle up under the cliff at the spring so this isn't a trail for a dry summer hike. Which Cuben Fiber tarp do you have? The standard with doors or the Palace?

Savage Gulf definitely has its challenging areas but what a beautiful place it is! We had 2 full days of rain before our trip and light snow on night one so the waterfalls were great. The tarp I carry is the HG Cuben(Dyneema) standard fiber tarp with doors.

Nice job! Commented on your channel and subbed.
I live about 1.5 hrs away from there, so I've been on those trail numerous times. It's an amazing location for being in Mid Tenn and not having to drive all the way to GSMNP...but has some very similar qualities and scenery. Trails can be tough on the ankles too...especially Connector and Stagecoach.
