There is a possibility that the road in to niger is driveable. The rain last week melted a lot snow that was in the open.

Something has come up and I can't make it. I was looking forward to trying out my new wool pants (I sewed 7" zippers into the pant legs). Maybe I'll go up next weekend.

Arrived at silent lake.
Drove car right up to the lake and unloaded the sleds.
Drive car back to parking lot near the highway.
Now hiking back to the lake.

are you camping at the north end of the lake? is there an open spot for a hot tent? just trying to decide whether to bring hammock or nice cozy warm tent. see you tomorrow.
