Tuesday?? Hell, I'm already on the trail!
Sounds like a lot of newcomers as well...the parking situation doesn't sound great. Weather is still looking good!

Me too! There are gas stations at each exit on I-75. Solo travelers could meet there and carpool in. Just make sure to go inside, as permission, BUY something and there should be no problem.
Speaking of new people, make sure to do a gear check. If you have any questions or concerns, post it on the thread and we'll take care of it.
One-click aka Willard Scott, is the official weather forecaster of GT 2018. If the weather is crappy, blame him for jinxing it. . Glad to see him coming up this year!
Tuesday???? Woah role call for Tuesday?

HA! With this snow coming I may just sneak into your back yard.
Okay, 2 weeks from now, sitting around a large roaring campfire, with plenty of food ready to start cooking for the next couple of hours, plus a selection of drinks, hot and cold, to satisfy any thirst. Laughing at the stories being told by some real characters in the group.... Boy, that sure sounds great!!
Working on my final lists, prepping some food ingredients, taste testing to insure quality meets Green Timbers standards.... Everyone that is going please add to the Google DOC, I count 27-28 YES in thread, but only 15 signed up. Plenty of trees, plenty of snow (reports from local residents, my brother lives near the area), plenty of interested people.... Should be a fantastic weekend!!
Cannot wait to test my new toboggan and some other gear, plus the reduced cargo weight (no water this time!!) will make the hike in pleasant instead of marathon style like a certain other nasty wet dirty drag I did recently.
Hope to see everyone for a relaxing hang in the woods two weeks from now, don't forget your hammocks or camp chairs!!
Gregori
You guys are starting early

Hmmm, 5 inches of snow yesterday. Hope it's a good omen! We have good 10 inch base now around Saginaw. Unfortunately, it won't last....
At least I can try out my snowshoes and sled harness some more this weekend. Bins are packed, although I probably will go through everything one last time. Just stuff the quilts before I leave and toss in truck. Good for whatever Michigan weather throws at us.
Gonna play with DIY wood stove this weekend. Actually just want to get outside and play in snow....
