I may have to try and meet you guys. No idea what I'll do if it's cold but I'm sure I can figure something out.

Well, you can borrow gear from many people I imagine. Cozy up to the fire and eat and be merry. If a friend of mine does not join me then I have an extra hammock and I am sure we can scrounge up enough quilts to make it work for you.

If you are unsure about your gear, just ask. We always like to help people expand their comfort zone and to help with whatever gear as needed.

I've got a 20° under and top quilt that showed up a few days ago that i'm itching to try out, that's what xmas will be for though. I was using a 0° mummy bag just in the hammock up until now, which seems to be fine down to somewhere in the 40's by itself pretty comfortably. Figured between the two I can survive. Plus long underwear should go a long ways.

Just camping in the snow is gonna be a new one for me. Coldest I've ever done was a motorcycle trials event in late october up by sacandaga lake. Waking up with frost on the ground is rough, but it's not snow.

Thanks for the encouragement though guys. If nothing comes up, I'll do my best to be there.

Wait, did I just type that? Lol!!

I am honestly a little nervous about the cold. I have been down to 14 degrees with my 3 season Wooki and 0 degree down bag. I now have a 0 degree Loco Libre so it shouldn't be much different. But that was no wind and walking outside from the house into my hammock and back in in the morning! I DO have the XLC now with the top cover though which is a little better I suspect. Maybe I need an under cover too?
I did fine with my 0* quilts last year, when it got down to 11* F. My problem was the 16 hours I wasn't in my hammock, and I bailed after the first day. It was really cold! If we're really having a hot tent, I might be persuaded....

I'm going to try and get an UQ protector to cut the breeze.

Come on Laura, it will be fun! We can wrap you in heated bubble wrap. Actually what we really need to do is hike or ski or skate or something to keep warm. I was sweating on that hike we did around the lake.

I think I have the necessary stuff to keep you warm during the 16 hours you're not in your hammock...

If the ice fishing is good, you get plenty of exercise!
