When will Chameleon be back in stock??

want to order a hexon 2.4 to go with my 1.6.

When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".

I just chatted with the Dutchware team, they said hopefully by next week. Standard and Wide Chameleons.

Speaking of Wide, the Half-Zipped Wide is now available:

I do wonder what component Dutch was having issues with on the distribution site that did not affect the Half-Zipped production, only the Chameleon. Might have to just pick up a H-Z instead :-).

I thought about getting a half zipped but then I would need to get the new winter sock for colder trips. I figure for weight savings and versatility I might as well wait for the Chameleon.

Why not get both. One for car camping, one for backpacking....The chameleon looks like it would be heavier than the half zipped by quite a lot, unless you plan on ditching the bugnet and over cover. The Half -Zipped is a perfect lightweight 3 season hammock when you would want a bug net always anyways, unless you hammock in areas with no bugs. The zippers on the chameleon give it versatility but also add weight, along with any extra accessories you may add.

This was my thinking as well as I never really deep winter camp (havent yet anyways) and have done ok with even my half wit partial bug net. My last few trips I have just had more paranoia with the half wit when I wake up feeling like I am sleeping with a spider. They say you carry your fears with backpacking, and I just decided I'd prefer a full net even in cooler temps. Since I don't deep winter camp to ease my mind, the half zipped could make sense.

I still love the idea of the Chameleons versatility, and I broke down the weights and it's only about 3oz or so more for a similar equipped Chameleon vs H-Z.

To me the Half Zipped would be absolutely perfect if only the bugnet came all the way off ala the Chameleon. I may get one and make that happen.

In that case, I would just get the Chameleon. when it's in stock! I leaning towards the Chameleon! I prefer zippers on both sides to better adjust the under quilt from inside the hammock!

We are only looking like a week for the Chameleon and when it comes back, I hope to have some updated accessories for it.
    Peace Dutch
