Using RR Spreader Bars for Storage

In another recent thread talking about ideas to improve the Ridgerunner I jokingly suggested using the spreader bars for storage (like for water and batteries). But I got to thinking about it though and tried an idea. I like to carry a spare continuous loop and tried using one of the foot bars to store the CL. It worked great! I was concerned about putting it in far enough for the insert to fit and not being able to get it out, but found with a good shake or two the loop came right out. (It's slick and smooth.). I also tried 10 feet of Zing it. Worked good too. Couple of pics of what I did.

Foot bars and 6" Amsteel continuous loop.

Almost all in. I pushed it in an additional 3 or 4 inches to accommodate the insert.

That'll work. I'd probably forget where I put it when I needed it

Never occurred to me. 10 feet of zing it - brilliant. Surely there are many things that could be stored here during travels! Thanks for sharing.

Me too. Foot end pole interiors are spaces looking for a use.
