If you come to NEHHA this coming weekend you'll meet a lot of us MA folks. I'd be interested in some overnighters this winter. I was going to try and get some people together at NEHHA to do an overnight on an island in the Connecticut river that has a couple nice campsites and some nice places to hang right next to the water.

I'm interested. I want to do two weekend trips in November. I live in southeastern Massachusetts. I'd like to do mount greylock. Hav you done that one yet?

If you want to paddle, there's this in a couple weeks in Concord/Wayland: http://www.svtweb.org/calendar/overn...-sudbury-river. Scout Island is just a couple acres and doesn't show up on any maps I can find. I assume (but don't know for sure) that there are trees there.

Yes. It was white out conditions and a miserable trip! I'd do it again though.

Can't go wrong with the White Mountains, especially since you are allowed to camp off trail. I'd check out the pumpkin hang thread as well, it's going on October 20-22.

There are a good many of us in MA that would be interested in getting out when we can. Keep your eyes out as small weekend hike sometimes get posted. We did a great hike out to Sawyer Pond at the end of February with a small group and are thinking of doing something similar this coming winter.
