I have multiple Dutch hammocks. I'm looking at getting the chameleon. Does it have any different lay than a netless would of the same material and same length? There is nothing in the design that would make it have less calf ridge, correct? Any flatter lay? Trying to justify spending the money on another hammoc! Thanks!
Considering the same material it should lay just like any other multi-directional lay hammock but don't let that stop you. You definitely need another hammock.
If you take the net off a chameleon, it lays just like any other GE hammock. The bug net has a shape to it and makes the hammock into an asymmetrical lay when it's zipped onto the hammock. Theoretically this could lessen the calf ridge as it pre-shapes the hammock for diagonal lay and makes a foot box. The design of the net, and how it attaches to the hammock, allows the user to change the direction of the lay if they choose.
I have numerous Dutchware hammocks, two chameleons and I just completed a chameleon clone. If you like your existing Dutch hammocks there is no reason you won't like a chameleon.
