Most of my scouts are well behaved. They are teens or pre teens. It's the adults that can cause trouble. Lol

Glad to see birdie girl is coming! Juan, thanks for the arrows on Short, I may park there by 10-11 AM, but like to get a hike in so may still park at Pat's just for the exercise.

I managed to rearrange my schedule a little. I'll be driving down to hike in from Pats landing after work on Friday and leaving late Saturday afternoon since I still have to work Sunday.

For anyone coming in on Hidden Pond Short trail, I will be marking arrows on the trail to help you navigate. Don't forget the right turn (South) onto the Florida Trail.

Looks like it's going to be swimming weather and the pond now has a deep end so come prepared.

Start from the Pat's Island and Hidden Pond Short trails only. Juniper Springs is still closed as of 9/24/17:
From the North at Pat's Island trailhead ~3.5 miles
From the West at Hidden Pond Short trailhead ~2.5 miles

As usual, please let us know what trailhead, date and time of arrival in case some want to hike in together. See ya there.

    1) Floridahanger: Hidden Pond Short, 29-1, 8am
    2) O-Boy: , Pat's Island, 29-1, 2pm
    3) Life Scout + 7, Pat's Island, 29-1, night
    11) C+1 (+ 2 more), Hidden Pond Short, 30-1,
    14) Cooloz91 + 2: Hidden Pond Short, 29-30, am-ish
    17) sunsetkayaker: Hidden Pond Short, 29-30, early
    18) BearBurrito: Hidden Pond Short, 29-1, afternoon
    19) Gravy: Hidden Pond Short, 29-30, 8am
    20) birdiesgirl: Hidden Pond Short, 29-1, late morning
    21) Randonneur: Pat's Island, 29-30, afternoon

Please remember to let us know if you are not attending Summer's Last Gasp Hang so we're not at camp waiting for you if you're actually somewhere else. I love you all, but don't want to worry all night long.

Any newbies that want to come along, I encourage you to do so. There isn't a better bunch of ladies or gentlemen outside of our hammocking family. Whether you are at this hang or up North or West, find a group hang to meet the best like-minded people and soon you too will be called family.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Slight change of plans - I'm now planning to hike in with O-Boy from Pat's Island. See everyone tomorrow!

Not gonna make it. Sorry for the late notice. Got an opportunity to go see Dad this weekend. Since he has stage 4 cancer and had to stop chemo this summer I am trying to spend as much time with him as possible. Don't know how much time he has left but I cherish every moment we have together.
I have enjoyed every Hidden Pond hang I have made it to. Y'all have fun, stay safe and I hope see you next time!
