If this is the trail I am thinking of, Tunnel Trail (#390), it is no where near Happy Jack. It lies off of FR300 right next to the Battle of Big Dry Wash historical marker. This in on the southern part of the Cabin Loop trail if you are familiar with that. The tunnel goes from the bottom of the rim to the top, and is easier than that section of the AZ trail. The AZ trail was like climbing stairs for 20 minutes. If you continue down past it, after a couple miles you end up at the Washington Park TH and the East Verde River which is really just a creek at that point.
