The 9th Annual Texas Fall Hang 2017,(#tfh2017), is now in the hands of comments, pictures, and posts on social media and forums and from all indications, my suspicion of it being a success, seems to be confirmed.

I had a great time and am thankful to so many that helped make it so.

Not being entirely aware of what I would experience for my first group hang, I can safely say I had a pretty good time. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere & being able to meet some other forum members, not to mention the great weather. Fairfield State Park was outstanding & it's great that we got the royal treatment considering all the upgrades going on. And of course, there were lots of hammocks!

While we are just a short month past the 9th Annual Texas Fall Hang and it's a bit early to go crazy with plans for a decade party, because of the size of the event, it's not too early to make some decisions with respect to camping sites.

If you have attended this event in the past, this year or previously, please take just a minute to complete this really brief survey.

Responses will be a huge basis for any decisions made in the next couple of days about next year's sites.

As for the Hang there's no decisions about where or when. This is an annual event that will happen again this fall at Fairfield Lake State Park.

A post with details, including sites and reservations, will go up sometime during the summer, possibly even late spring. While that may seem a while however, by all means put it on the calendar now!

We always hang on the weekend of the second Saturday in November. What that means for 2018 is the Hang will be 11/8-11

Excellent point. There's the Brute's Goodwater Death March at Lake Georgetown in April and The Butt Bake in the Sam Houston National Forest in July usually. There's typically a south Texas Spring Hang but Harvey damage has put that one in question.

The April Hang is a bad weekend for me, but The July and Spring may be something I can do. I will keep watch here. I have penciled in November, thanks for the info.
