I made a hammock pod out of an old Ozark Trail cocoon 250 sleeping bag, it's just a mummy bag and all I had to do was put a hole in the foot end and install it a zipper. Then I made a suspension out of some shock cord . I can easily get my top quilt inside the Pod with me and then I put my underquilt underneath the pod.
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

I would suggest using a square sleeping bag or at least a large mummy bag to give you plenty of room inside.
