There was only one car at Newby Branch when I got there around 10am. I hiked about a mile past the Logging campsite and then returned to it. That is when I saw that big group. It's possible he was part of that group. I talked to one guy who said his daughter with him played soccer. All 3 of my kids play so we casually chatted about it.
I must say the dogs were all well behaved. I just thought they may want the place to themselves and I wanted a little privacy and be closer to my car in the morning as I was on a schedule.
I did see a copperhead sunning on a rock right by the Duskin Creek bridge!
There were also 2 ATVs that crossed over the trail and the creek just down from that bridge as well.
I did some filming myself but haven't got the bug to put anything together and post. Maybe one day.
Thanks again for the post, maybe I'll run into you or Evan on the trail sometime.
