First backpacking trip of the year...two weeks away (Black Hills, SD)

Planning my first backpacking trip of the year and it is so overdue...it has been a long winter.

This will also be my first trip with a hammock, so I hope I love it as I'll be stuck with it for 5 nights. I have slept a couple of nights in my GT hammock at home and found it comfortable.

Still have snow on the ground so haven't had the chance to test my gear and set-up yet (esp the tarp) and may end up having a real quick learning curve on the trail. Hopefully I'll get some nice days between now and May 18th to at least do a quick test.

I hear ya Dune, my first trip of the year is that same weekend, although it is only a 2 nighter. It's been waaaaaay to long!!!

Two days to go...definitely getting a little nervous about my first "long" trip with a hammock and no ground back-up. I have my gear dialed in as best as I can without having a hammock guru around. Hopefully it all goes well and I will still like my hammock when I get back.
