Smokehouse makes two different duo-hammock tarps. Here is an example of one of them.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who say there are two kinds of people, and all the others.
I plan to put Dr Seuss like snorkels in the head end doors to allow them to close. I have no intentions of backpacking with this though.

I'm intrigued by the use of a spreader bar to hang two hammocks from the same tree. Had never thought of that. Doesn't one person doing anything involving motion cause the other hammock to move around? Seems that would get annoying.
The big tarps look awesome. Would be great to have that much coverage during a big storm on the AT. Gotta wonder how heavy and practical they are for backpacking.

I recently got an SLD Winter Haven out of xenon wide with double internal pole mod. It will be my dual hanging tarp.

I setup my double chameleon today for the first time, and had my wife get in her hammock first. I got in mine afterwards. Amazed at how comfortable we both were- and she loved how close we are instead of being on separate trees within shouting distance. I'll say you can feel it just a little bit when the other person moves/adjusts, but it's not annoying to me or her at all..
As far as the tarp, I first had my 12ft hammock gear cf tarp up (no doors) could immediately tell that wasn't going to work with the way it's cut back.. spreader bar was exposed a little. I then put up the superfly- and to my surprise- it had the entire spreader bar and suspension covered. But, the spreader bar was practically touching the tarp. So- I took my hiking poles to lift the doors up a little, and I felt I had plenty of space between the bar and the tarp. The only thing that still had me a little worried is when one person gets out, the bar will move considerably upwards towards the tarp.. but this is what I'll live with until Dutch throws something irresistible up that I can't refuse. I'm open to others suggestions and ideas..
