This is the best time of year to search for bark for once the leaves are out it can become more difficult to find the right trees. Birch bark releases without harm to the tree around the last two weeks in June to the first two weeks in July. I have an old video on birch bark that I will post and then make another on the holder. I want to thank everyone for their comments.

That's exactly why I'm going to experiment with Cornish hens in a dutch oven tonight at a campground. Dried foods may make a lot of sense when you are putting on the miles and need something quick to fuel your body, but if you have a basecamp, cooking up a feast is a great way to spend time and fill the stomach.

Very delightful, video mr. Caver. I throughly enjoyed it, and am looking forward to more installments. I liked looking at your cool gear. Thanks you for doing that, I really liked your match holder, real neat and that spoon was super cool. Steak I imagine was as good as it looked. Thanks you
