Just read through the 45 pages of the "get a clew" thread and trying to digest it. I already have kam snaps so I might give it a try. Definitely easier than cutting it open again.

    Used clew suspension. Issue resolved.

My quilt is about the same dimensions as yours and already has a taper. The taper does not seem to prevent air pockets. The fundamental problem is the slack down the middle. See article above for better explanation.

Let us know how it works out.
Well I tried it and am pleased with the results. I did 8 nettles spaced out between the existing linelocks on the corners making 10 attachment points. The linelocks were origionaly for secondary suspention, but I really like the way work in conjunction with the other fixed nettles. I found I like the edges of the quilt a bit tighter than the middle, it helps to be able to grab the quilt and position it a bit better. I'm also glad I left the end channels cinched, it helps reduce the small air gaps from the scalloped ends.

This was just what I needed and the quilt hangs so much better. It's amazing how well it conforms to the hammock without compressing the insulation. I just need to play around with some ways to keep the nettles from getting tangled when the quilt is packed. Thanks to leiavoia for the idea.
