    Hammock Base Camp Spring Shakedown

Spring hammock base camp clean up and shakedown. I am no longer able to distant hike so I base camp and enjoy the outdoors. Pack weight is no longer a concern and I like to be able to prepare fresh food rather than dehydrated. I often stumble through situations but so far have been able to get home without calling for help.

It's always great seeing what you're up to. Looks like you got to spend a nice day out enjoying the woods. I have to try that trick with the bacon someday!

Thanks for the video! Love that Kelly Kettle! The bacon trick was top notch. Everything is better with bacon!

Shug posted the bacon weave recently in one of his replies. The site is: Bacon Weave The Ultimate BLT Trick / Mad Genius Tips. The same Shug that prefers to boil water in the woods rather than cook has opened a new chapter in outdoor cooking.

Hi Carver,I really like the packs you carry, I still have some of my gear I bought in the 70's and still use. You have some beautiful woods there and I always enjoy your posts.

I prefer a canvas pack especially when you are around a fire. A Frost River Pack is a hand down that is still made the old fashioned way with special attention to quality.

It would be really cool to spend about a week out in the backcountry with you to see all that gear and knowledge in action.

A woven bacon blanket- great stuff!

As always thanks for an interesting and informative video.
