Chameleon Top Cover and Rain Fly Question

Ok, I'm still a bit of a noob with hammocks, but Dutch's Chameleon has me really intrigued. I wish I had started paying attention to this forum back I. December and before Dutch started the Kickstarter.
I have a question about the topcover: is this intended to take the place of a rainfly, or is it simply to add an extra layer of warmth in colder weather? Can the bug net and top cover be installed at the same time, or is that something you wouldn't want to do in the first place? Also, can the topcover be added at a later date, or does I need to be ordered with the Chameleon?

Looking forward to the day these are available on the site. I hope I can hold out that long!

--Just an extra layer of warmth...
--Only one installed at a time is the way it looks to me, only one zipper
--If I remember right, it was designed to be able to add top cover and all later if needed

Still waiting on mine, getting closer though

    Sky1926. TRUTH!

I can confirm. Only one a time. Two would never be necessary. Cover for warmth. Net for bugs. Nothing for those special months.

The Chameleon is a modular setup, so you can buy the bug net and the top cover at any point and they will fit on your hammock. You can use the bug net or the top cover, but not both at the same time. The top cover is, as stated above by Sky1926, designed for cold weather hanging to capture some of the warmth but is not a substitute for a separate rain fly.

Thank you, everyone. You confirmed my intuition but I just wanted to make sure.
