    Hello from Houston!

Howdy! I'm new to hammocks, but not to camping. I'd been thinking about trying a hammock for camping for awhile, because I never manage to get much sleep in a tent, and when I started planning a 2-week backpacking trip on the Colorado Trail this August, I figured now was as good a time as any to invest in some new gear.

Many thanks to this forum (and the YouTubers who frequent it) for all the great advice, and for pointing me in the direction of Dutchware Gear! I'm currently waiting for my shipment to come in. I ordered a netless hammock, Fronkey bugnet, and a bunch of cordage and hardware for suspension and ridgelines.

I also jumped in and got a Warbonnet Superfly for shelter, and next is the underquilt and topquilt. I have my eye on the Jarbridge River and the Loco Libre Jalapeno Pepper, but I'm open to suggestions!

    Cheers,

    IT

Hey, hey, hey! Austin here, but I grew up in H-town. The pines there are glorious.

Hello from Austin. Hammock Gear Incubator is great, or go back to Warbonnet and get a Wooki UQ.

Hello from Alabama! My Jalapeno Pepper is in the queue. Synthetic appealed to me too over down, due to the humidity down here at our latitude. Enjoy the journey and hope your planned trip goes well!

I've heard great things about both of these, thanks for the suggestion!

Nice! Yep, the price difference is a nice bonus, too, heh.

So I finally finished making my whoopie slings and ridgeline, and as I'm working from home today, I hung my Dutch netless in my backyard on my lunch break.

Holy cow! So comfortable I almost didn't get out to go back to work. Now I can see why people are replacing their beds with hammocks.
