    BMBH vs UL

Hey folks I tried to dig up some info on the BMBH vs the UL version. I am now headed down the rabbit hole for a bridge hammock. I picked up a WBRR and a diy "grizz" from someone here on HF. I'm now looking at the BMBH. Any help would be appreciated...

UL saves you 7.2 ounces as far as I can tell.

    From their site:
The Bear Mountain Bridge Hammock comes in two models the original Deluxe model and the new Ultra Light model. On the BMBH – UL the bottom has been redesigned to be 4 inches less deep, the pad pocket is eliminated and it comes with separable webbing suspension. The four under quilt attachment loops are also eliminated and the under quilt now attaches directly to the secondary (spreader bar) rings.

    Specs
    Weights
Deluxe Hammock (Body, Bug Net): 26.7 ounces (0.757 kg)
Ultra-Light Hammock (Body, Bug Net): 19.5 ounces (0.533 kg)
    Suspension: 4.3 ounces (0.122 kg)
Spreader Bars: 8 ounces (0.227 kg)
    Total: 39 ounces (1.1 kg)

I had the Bear Mountain UL & RR. I like the BMUL best for lounging. I switched to RR because it is less deep, has the sleevefor a mat. With the BM if I was not careful how I hung it, I would have shoulder squeeze.
I sold my RR & bought a netless version, I like it the best.
I think both BM and RR are good solid hammocks. It just turns out I seem to be a minimalist in my choice for a bridge. All comes back to personal choice, how the Hang feels r o your brain. Reading and thinking are great however, hanging is the o.ly way to know what fits. If you read shoe ads, you can not really know if the shoes will fit your specific needs until you put them on, then you know.

Thanks for the pics! I guess I was wondering how the sides compare ( how deep the hammock lays) I like the view from my RR but it feels a little narrow in the hips. My "grizz" lays a little deeper. Which I seem to like for cooler weather.

I just bought a bmbh deluxe and i could not be more pleased. I never sleep on my back. Always my side. The jrb bmbh deluxe is the perfect depth and allows you to lean back aginst the side of the hammock. Glad i didnt get the more shallow ul model. Everyone has their own sleep styles and for me this design is perfect. Tried asyms and they are not for me. Good luck!

Well ran home yesterday like a school kid. Opened the box went outback and set her up. I didnt realize the bars were only 32", so for me there is a little squeeze. I set up the rest of my gear and prepared for a 25 degree night. I slept warm and didn't toss and turn too much. I like the depth but I'm not sold on the width... the diy "grizz" that I picked up is a little more comfortable. I guess I'll have to set all 3 up and test them. Sound like a good way to spend a Saturday!
