Skin/Sleeve for hammock and insulation ?

Once upon a time, I put a pair of snake skins on my Hennessy Explr Dlx. I kept the asym tarp right in there with the hammock and tie-outs. Later I moved to the HH hex, which I skinned separately, and took the asym off the hammock. Because of the tie-out pockets and D rings on the Hex, I was thinking about making a single, less tapered, skin for it since the tapers are fairly tight on my factory skins. But then that got me thinking...

Has anyone ever made a skin for their gathered end (not all-in-one) hammock AND insulation? I was thinking that for 3 season use, it might just be possible to toss the UQ on top of the TQ, wrap the hammock body around them and skin it all together. I wouldn't expect a 0*F down quilt set with overfill to compress easily in this manner, but a Jarbidge and and a 40* synth TQ might. I'd likely do this with two skins instead of a single, and the bubble might make me reconsider, but I wonder if this is feasible or already disproven?

On an unrelated note, I pulled that old Hennessy out, put it up in the basement, and found my Petzl Tac-tikka headlamp lark's headed to the ridgeline! I've been looking for that headlamp since we moved houses over 3 years ago!

    Thanks!

Check Wilderness Logics - Lazy Slug Tube.
Sounds similar to what you are asking about.
Another poor man's option, according to some... panty hose.

I use a set of pantyhose that I cut down the crotch then sewed together, to use as a two piece much like normal snakeskins. I can get my top quill underquilt hammock and hammock sock in it. They are a little fragile but I usually get a good dozen nights out of them or more and they're only about a dollar a piece.

By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

I've used the large Lazy Slug Tube with a WB BBXLC/UGQ full-length Zeppelin Long 20* under quilt/Loco Libre Ghost Pepper Long 20* top quilt. It all fit fine and made set-up and take down quick and easy. I like the concept a lot.
But for the grace of God, there, I go...

Thanks! The Lazy Slug Tube is pretty much what I was envisioning. I had also thought about stretchy pocket mesh, and it looks like that is an option. Now if the LST can also be used for hanging storage when the hammock is deployed, I'm in!

So, would hanging one mean I'd be called a lazy slug too? You are what you hang, sort of thing?
    Thanks,
