It was a good time. I'd fallen in a rut of backpacking from point A to B and not taking many relaxing trips. This was a nice change to hike in a few miles, set up camp and day hike to explore areas that would be brutal with a pack. A nice departure from my norm.

Sound like a great trip, weather looked to be perfect. I'm in the reverse rut, I'm hiking and doing just the smiles and not getting in many of the miles. I really need to work on mixing it up so I can do more of the distance and handle the terrain better. RRG was beautiful when we went this past summer, but it was tougher than I was ready for. Hoping to make it back there, but after I build up some endurance.

I have said for years that I wanted to do that in dolly sods but I have yet to do so. Maybe this summer

Dolly Sods is on my short list of places to go. I think you might have been one that mentioned it was a good place to go in the summer months as the climate seems to stay more moderate. Yes?

I think this weekend is gonna be time to catch up on chores for me.
