One of the things I'm eager to try is the Beetle Buckles with my Ridgerunner. I'm planning on using a continuous loop from the metal buckle at the top of the dog bones triangle and attach the CL to the arms of the Beetle Buckle. That way any wear or abrasion from the Beetles will be on the loop and not the dog bones. I think I read somewhere the Cinch bugs did create some wear in Amsteel. I'd rather replace CL's than dog bones if I have to.

On the other hand this may not be an issue with the Beetles. Guess we'll see.

In my excitement after submitting my response to the survey, I was re-watching Shug's and Syntax77's Chameleon videos and I noticed that they show different beetles from each other. Which one is the final version that we will be receiving with our orders and why the change in design?

Shug / Dutch's video shows two sets of hooks held together by the continuous loop.

Syntax77 shows 1 set of hooks with a peg that goes over top of it and is retained in place by the continuous loop.

Wow. Good eyes! I watched these a number of times myself and never noticed the two-hook version. You've peaked my curiosity as well.

I acually have the second set. Work great. Never slipped. Hanging in my Nut-Hut for lounging and naps. I love 'em. Use them on several different hammocks with amsteel looks on the ends.
