Hammock Camping combo with a kayak?

Wondering if there's a great spot to go on a kayaking trip that combines with some great camping. Preferably a smooth slow river where I can put in, kayak down, camp, then kayak out the rest of the way. Preferably North Georgia, but anywhere GA, AL, or TN could work.

I want to go this summer. There's tons of places around us. I'm in Savannah. Let's plan something.

Sounds good. I imagine there would be some great places around Savannah or north Florida.

Tons of places. I'll post a planning thread once I decide on a place.

I have done the Sipsey wilderness in Alabama. Loads of fun. I'll post some pics from the app on my phone. My hiking buddy and I did 3 nights out there just exploring the different branches. we stayed at two amazing, picture perfect campsites.

Check out http://www.garivers.org/paddle_georg...hesatilla.html to see an example of trips that are set up through Georgia River Network. Some are long weekend trips, one is Paddle Georgia. There are fees involved in a lot of these trips that benefit local river keeper organizations-these are the river keepers that keep our rivers clean and provide access. Even if you are not interested in organized trips, it will give you an idea on where to go. Some of the river guide books that are available (Joe Cook) are Chattahoochee River, Broad River, and Etowah River.

I recommend the Etowah River. Stay in Dawson Forest, good places to hang. Also near Lake Allatoona below Canton past Boling Park.

If I go to Etowah River, where do I put in and where do I camp?
