There are fees involved in a lot of these trips that benefit local river keeper organizations-these are the river keepers that keep our rivers clean and provide access. Even if you are not interested in organized trips, it will give you an idea on where to go. Some of the river guide books that are available (Joe Cook) are Chattahoochee River, Broad River, and Etowah River.
I recommend the Etowah River. Stay in Dawson Forest, good places to hang. Also near Lake Allatoona below Canton past Boling Park.
