    Christmas present hammocks

Made a couple presents for my brother in law and sister for Christmas. His I made out of the 1.7 robic xl in Vader blue and her's is the 1.6 hyperd in Robin egg blue. I used red thread on his and deep purple on her's and was sad the purple didn't stand out more.

All in all I was more efficient this round and the process went much smoother. The Costco brother sewing machine I got frustrated me a little and will likely be getting returned for a mechanical sewing machine.

Nice, I used to do them as birthday gifts. Everyone I know now has a Hammock. Lol. Great job on the bags and the stitching looks great.

    Weird

I made two hammocks as my first ever hammock builds for my brother and sister in law on my new brother from Costco....this is starting to get weird

Vader blue 1.7 robic XL for my bro

    And...

HyperD 1.6 but in crimson for sister in law

What bothered you about the brother?

I seem to like it so far

How have you liked the 1.7 Robin? My limited testing has me with mixed feelings. But it was very limited.

The machine was great on the stuff sacks and hammocks. It sounded extremely unhappy when I made the straps. Shook and was very loud when I went any faster than a creep.

I also noticed it was very inconsistent with the stitch length. It was set for 2.5mm and when going slow was fine. But any additional speed made it get much shorter. You can notice it in the second and third rows on the channel. It's worse when I get some speed towards the middle.

Another thing that I'm not experienced enough to know the cause or if it was user error, but it would kind of bird nest on the bottom with the thread jumbling and getting all ugly.

I like both but pretty sure I favor the hyper D

Super compressible in its stuff sack and so soft

If you tug much in fabric as the machine feeds it will mess up -

Could be a problem with that machine though

    Or some other small issue...

The lack of compressibility surprised me. Although when actually forced it wasn't bad. It's like it preferred not to be compressed but would if forced to do so.
