My new Ghost Pepper arrived from Loco Libre, and I am wildly impressed with it, can't wait for a chance to take it out and sleep under it.
I scouted this site for comments before making my decision about which company's bag to get, so wanted to come back here now I have mine and report. Workmanship is great and I am completely sold on the zigzag chevron baffles for holding down in place. As someone else commented, it seems almost impossible to get it to move if you try to.
I got the Argon 90 outer fabric for the DWR and bit of extra strength, and then the softer, lighter weight Argon 67 inside fabric, which is as soft and silky as everyone reports. I got a 20 degree rated bag--I won't deliberately be out when it's that cold but my last trip was 27 degrees the final morning. I got the drawstring type foot with snaps to the knees, figuring I can put a sock into the hole (about an inch stays open at bottom center) if it's needed, but then also have the luxury of spreading the whole thing open if I'm camping where it's warm (pretty rare for where I go, but flexibility is always a good thing). Got the duck down--one more ounce of weight, but some $$ savings. I also requested, and George added for free, some loops for holding the bag closed over a pad for ground sleeping. I've never used a quilt type bag before and I guess I figured better to have the option to keep it wrapped around me securely than want it later and have to retrofit.
Anyhow, mostly I wanted to praise my beautiful new quilt's workmanship and to thank George for great customer service in helping me figure things out. And thank you all for helping me decide which one to get. Those chevron baffles... brilliant!
