    Exclamation WHICH JRB UQ?????

I don't know which one to get. I live in GA, and once in a blue moon the temps wil drop into the teens... I can only get one UQ for now...which one do you recommend. I ususally don't go in the summer, but the fall down here is mild. Would a greylock 4 be too hot for me? FYI...The Greylock 4 is on sale for the price of a 3 right now. I'd also like to be able to have one quilt that i can take pretty much anywhere on the east coast...i.e. along the A.T.

    Thanks!

If it was me...and assuming you are using a gathered end hammock, I would go for the Mt. Washington 4. I've experienced the single digit Georgia nights in February and March, and was glad to have the Mt. Washington 4. On those fall trips where it isn't getting all that cold, you can always vent it.

I love my old rags. I modded one and added side channels.
    They pack small

If you know you can handle a 3/4 UQ the greylock 4 is a great deal right now, otherwise the mount washington 4 is the way to go. When I switched from an MSS I used the MW4 year round because I didn't care about the added weight coming from the MSS

Buy an old ragged mountain or a Hudson River. Versatile quilt can be used as an underquilt or a topquilt. Also, I have a greylock 3 and if you can handle a 3/4 quilt that is a great one too! I use it as a underquilt for my ridgerunner in the warmer months, above 50.

Hey! Thanks for the advice and the tips...I went ahead and got the 4. The deal was just too good to pass up, and with it being 3/4, and venting it...I think I'll be fine if the weather is too warm. At least until I get another quilt.

I use a Greylock 4 in winter and a Costco quilt in warm weather. But the Greylock can be used anytime.

Great choice! My MW4 is the under quilt I use the most. I've never over heated from a heavier than needed under quilt (top quilt is another story) so the only draw back when it's warm is slightly more weight and bulk over a three season UQ.
