If you still want to use it as a pack cover, we could make it out of 300D for an additional $10

I've been looking for something like this. However, living along the Lone Star Trail where it's hunting season half the year I'd love a blaze orange option.

That's intriguing... What do you reckon the weight capacity of 300D fabric to be?

More than could possible fit in a chair. I am making diy hydro hammock out of 300D. It is unbelievably strong.

Have a beginner question. I've been looking for a way to get my 50 lb. dog off the ground so he can enjoy hammocking as well. Would this work for a "dog hammock"???

My initial thought was yes, but I'm looking to those of you with more experience than I. My wife and I usually do a three tree "triangle" setup with our hammocks and the dog sleeps in the middle. However, we're looking to try some colder weather camping and don't want to leave the dog in the snow on top of a pad and blanket, that only works down to about 45 degrees for us before he gets restless. Also, the dog sleeping in the wifes hammock is not an option, he's too fidgity and she gets no sleep.

Yes, this works great as a dog hammock.
