Has anybody heard from AA2FD? Bob? I was hoping his eye was ok for him to drive to an Urgent Care before trying to drive home.

Looks like an awesome hang. Love to know more about those hanging "tents" with the poll mods supporting the tarp. Is that simply two modified hammock stands together?? What tarps were used to cover?

I want to thank everyone for attending! As usual, food and company were awesome! Great meeting Sarah and chewie! Hope to see them back again. Even though this was a small hang, I kept in mind of those who were affected by the storm and couldn't attend and hope all goes well. Glad to see cliff back in my old chair! Hadn't been the same without him. Hope Bob made it home safely and got his eye looked after. Sorry cas didn't make it but I believe he was channeling the owls! I honestly thought one came for sam! I'll have to see about the Feb hang. Only if it's nice. when we have the hang in April, hope to see everyone again!

Sunday morning, while getting back from natures call in the wee hours (pun intended), I seemed to have plucked my taut ridgeline right into my eye. I managed to get to an urgent care, who diagnosed corneal abrasion. Doctor today put on a 'bandage contact lens', and told me I should be back to normal(?) by the weekend.

Other than that excitement, I had a great time! Looking forward to seeing everyone again in the spring!

Also glad to hear your eye is ok.....have been thru similar situation and it is not fun.

These custom built tarps were designed and made by Squidbilly for use with two of the Hammeck stands. There are 6 in use right now ( I have # 6 ), Hotlips and Kingsford have one, Old 4 Hats has one, and the Meck family have 3. I am about 6ft 2" and have plenty of head room inside. We had several hangers wait out the Friday night rain storm inside our tarp in comfort sitting in chairs. With our 2 hammocks set up I estimate we could have accommodated 8 folks inside.

Someone asked it they would fit the new TATO stand. After getting a close up look of one, I would have to say that this tarp would not fit as is and would require a complete redesign to make it work.

I think Sam (our dog) misses being out in the woods and wants to go back.
