"Particularly when going into fetal, the hammock length collapses to the length of my body in fetal position. That feels very odd at first. But, OTOH, that is then the most comfy hammock I have ever used in fetal position. Even more comfy than the HT90 with a pad, which is at least equal to any other hammock(better than most) for side or fetal sleeping. "
This has been my experience as well. It's odd how the hammock shrinks to fit your body, but it's comfy. If you turn over a bit beyond a fetal position, far enough that your legs stay extended then they hold the hammock shape very well.
My wish list for a 90 degree would be:
- 1/2 length bug net
- pocket w/ shock cords for an underquilt, or possibly some other way to attach it below.
- Possibly a 1/2 length pad pocket.
The full length pad and full bug net are what put me off of Luke's Gamma version. Climbing into the hammock like a tunnel seemed tricky, and my bad back would make bending down to zip the bug net very dangerous. I lie the way that I can get into my Alpha version 90 deg by sitting and lying back.
