I have several Warbonnet set-ups and I LOVE every piece. So far, I have been using a HammockGear Incubator, because I need full coverage and Warbonnet didn't sell full-length underquilts for gathered end hammocks. When the Wooki was introduced, I got one immediately. I have been using it for about 14 nights - with my Blackbird as well as with a simple DIY hammock - and I don't think I'll ever go back to an underquilt with shock cord suspension. The Wooki doesn't put pressure on any body part; it allows to lie flatter and more relaxed; and it does seem to close every last gap - in contrast to any other underquilt I tried.

I can fully recommend going Warbonnet completely. There's no other set-up that is equally well designed in my opinion - as long as you like the Blackbird and don't want a Cuben tarp.

I have two WBBB XLC one for me one for my son. Love them both.

I tried that yeti UQ like you it was a little too minimalistic. I went with the 20° Phoenix and love it. The Phoenix is my go to summer top quilt.

My son has the Superfly and I upgraded to the lightweight Cuban fiber tarp!

I have not jumped on the Wookie bandwagon yet probably in the spring as I just got my 0* gear for the winter. A LL Reaper UQ and. UGQ Renegade!!

Have a regular BB and a Superfly. Both great pieces of gear. BB is super comfortable and the SF offers great protection at a relatively decent price. My underquilt is from a different company since WB was not making a full length when I originally purchased it, however the Wookie looks like a very well designed piece and is getting good reviews so far. Warbonnet makes great stuff!

I couldn't be happier with my Warbonnet gear. XLC, Yeti (20 and 0), SF (camo and green), Mamba 20, Winter Wookie - unused. The Superfly is a great value.

I have several Warbonnet set ups and love them all. I have had several manufacturers hammocks, underquilts, etc. and have sold nearly everything except my WB products. I use the ridgerunner almost always now, along with the lynx uq, spindrift, and cloudburst, it is just a great well thought out set up, I actually have two RR set ups. Also, I have two XLCs with wooki, a superfly, a BMJ, two travelers with bug nets and edge tarps, etc. I can't say enough about warbonnet, great company, and very innvative ideas, you will not find a uq with a better fit than the lynx or wooki.

Does the Phoenix get in the way of the shelf on the Blackbird XLC?

No it does not, you can move it around quite a bit. I have a Phoenix and there are no issues with the shelf.

XLC double layer 1.7, Superfly, 3-season Wooki.
    Love it!

If I were doing it again I think I'd go with a single layer (I weigh about 220#), and I wish they'd make a single layer of heavier material.

    YMMV... have fun!

I have to Ditto the above post! Maybe because I'm old but I don't see how you would use a pad between the two layers. I tried and it reminded me of a monkey trying to ride a football!

I agree. I tried the pad and it felt very unnatural. I also agree with the single layer of the heavier material. I too weigh about 220
