    Velcro on Owyhee

I love my Owyhee top quilt.....for the most part. The only issue I have is the velcro comes un-velcro'ed any time I put my giant feet into the footbox wearing socks. Has anyone ever successfully changed their velcro'ed box to snaps? Or does anyone have any suggestions? It really gets frustrating sometimes.

I got tired of fighting the velco! I tried snaps but they didn't hold thT well either. Finally gave in and had a friend sew the box shut, I actually liked my TQ

It drove me crazy too. I don't have a sewing machine, so I just hand stitched it shut. Ugly as could be, but effective.

Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks!

I'm considering adding a couple loop and toggle style fasteners, maybe one halfway, then the other at the top of the velcro.

Yes. Took less than 5 minutes to add 4 plastic snaps. Went to http://www.kamsnaps.com/ and ordered a simple kit (http://www.kamsnaps.com/snap-setters...naps-p676.html). Worked perfectly first time. Velcro and snaps together are unstoppable.

And I still have 195 sets of snaps left so now my daughter hates me because I'm adding snaps to everything.

Men hang out their signs indicative of their respective trades; shoe makers hang out a gigantic shoe; jewelers a monster watch, and the dentist hangs out a gold tooth; but up in the Mountains of New Hampshire, God Almighty has hung out a sign to show that there He makes men.

That is pretty cool. That might be an easy solution for people who don't have a sewing machine to turn a poncho liner into a summer top quilt. I'm sure others could think of a bunch of uses.

Yep that's exactly what I'm about to do with my Costco down quilt!
