I'm still planning on attending - glad things are all worked out with your family Wafflebox.
We have a reservation at Rock Creek site #3. That's the only one that was open Saturday night. Looks like a popular time of year at Torreya. The ranger mentioned that she recommends not to rely solely on finding a good spot to set up a hammock, and to bring a backup tent. I am going to try my darndest to go scout out that specific spot before this weekend and make sure it's good for a few hammocks.
Went out to scout the site yesterday. We should be able to do 2-3 hammocks no problem. Might have to spread out from what is technically our site to accomdate more than that. The stream that runs nearby is kind of hard to get down to and has lots of floating sediment, so you may want to consider packing in more water than usual. See pic.

How many people are attending? We were thinking about hiking in on Friday night. If we can hike in Friday night how many miles from the parking lot?

Right now the only confirmed attendies are myself and birdiesgirl. They close the gate to the park at sunset, but if you can make it in before then it's about 0.75 miles from the parking lot to the site.
There is not as far as I'm aware. You might could leave your car on the side of the road outside the gate but I'm not sure if they'd do anything about it Saturday morning. If you decide to do that, I think it'll add probably 1-1.5 additional miles to the hike, along a paved road.
Due to a change in circumstances, this hang is now canceled. I will try to organize another one at Torreya in a month or two.
Changed title to read Cancelled per OP request.
