    UCR playing

Just tested mine out between trees and I for sure need something to keep it from slipping when hanging. I'm 80ish kg(176lbs), so thought it would hold up, it didn't. A Slippery half hitch kept it from going in the bury but I need to figure out a better solution to prevent the slippage. Will test if a larks head will sort it.

Did ya milk the bury?? Thoroughly?? Most don't at first and have slippage. I'm 210# and been hanging off UCR's for years without issue.

Hmm, maybe I didn't milk it enough. Will have another go tomorrow. Thank you! :-)

I had slippage on my UCR's that I just make out off 7/64 Amsteel. I wondered if it would help if I "fattened up" the section that makes up the bury (the section that goes inside the bury, if that makes sense). I then buried a piece of 1.75mm dyneema line inside the section that makes up the bury (completely buried it inside the Amsteel), and it seems to have thickened it just enough so that the outer section tightens down better. No more slippage. Hope this makes sense.

You're very welcome. I got the same help early on, just passing it on.

Never heard of anyone "fattening up" a whooping sling, and they both work on the same principle???

I use a whipping knot on my ucr's its tied tight right up against the exit of the bury. Never had one slip with the proper amount of bury. Plus you can hang in short spaces.

Yep, same way we make our min-ucr's for crl's and tie-outs. I also use this method on loopie slings.
