I just ordered a Tree Runner hammock. 10' in the 1.6 Hexon with fixed ridgeline. I already have a Warbonnet Traveler, but my underquilts just don't fit it for some reason. I get a big gap under my legs.

It sounds like the Tree Runner is basically the same thing, but figured I would give it a shot. More of a boredom purchase than anything else. One-click hasn't been clicking at all lately, so it was time

    Wow...shipped already!

Yep he is quick! Just got a new winter haven tarp, I own 3 of his hammocks and quite simply they fit me best

I just talked to Jared last night about building some removable tarp doors for my Amok. They shipped this morning. It's insane how fast he can get things out.

Got my hammock this morning. 11.7oz with stuff sack. I'll remove the loops and just replace with my warbonnet webbing suspension. Should come in around 17.5oz in the end. That'll cut exactly 4oz off my setup!

Update: I had a chance to try this out over the weekend. Pretty good, but I think 10.5' would be better. I tried a few 11' hammocks in the past and didn't like them, so I may give a 10.5 a try.

So I ordered several random items from Jared this weekend, including some custom continuous loops. This was my first purchase from SLD, but his speedy service lived up to the hype. The whole order was in the mail first thing (and I mean first thing) the next day. I definitely foresee myself doing some more business with Jared in the future!

ok, this is something I need to see when you get them. I've been on the fence about picking up a tarp door for my amok as well

I am clearly biased, but Jenny IS great!

So is Jared. He has been around for a while and he does great work. Heck, someone could probably thin the herd with some of the outdated vendors that ARE in the subforum. I wouldn't name any, but my guess is that there are some there with fewer, and much older thread mentions than SLD. However, I do understand that keeping things organized is the purpose behind creating a subforum.

It can also be tricky finding some of his threads when you search for "SLD" because I think the search does not work with three letters. Just a thought.

Since we don't have a subforum for SLD, I thought I'd give this a bump since there's been lots of activity discussing Jared and Simply Light Designs. I put this together back in September of 2016 and when I've got some time, I'll go through and search for new posts to update this thread.

Lots of information here and most likely you'll find what your looking for regarding people's experiences with his gear,

SLD Jared does first class craftsmanship. Beautiful sewing. tight construction, takes a beating in high, gusty wind and keeps ticking.

He made me a 13 foot tarp with doors for my Ridge Runner, I have a weird inside pole mod and an over the top pole mod to choose from. Good price amazing value. I use that tarp a lot!
