I see you're opting for the "Florida Deep Winter" set-up.

For my Summer set, last year I made a polyester low quilt batting TQ with sewn thru "baffles" to go with my 2 layer synthetic partial UQ. I have used the TQ at HangCon 2016 comfortably down into the upper 30's and at the "No UQ Hang" at mid 70's and also comfortable.

I made the TQ slim at the shoulders so it wouldn't overheat, be less bulk, and can be used as a liner for Winter.

Can you ever use a 20 in Florida?

Closed cell pads have worked well for me for summer use. Consider this: they weighs about the same as an under quilt but are at least 5x bulkier. And pads offer such a narrow comfort foot print, even a 25" wide one. I prefer an uq.

I just may get a full length 30 degree Loco or HG quilt but may a 20 degree would do me most of the time with my UQP to extend in the winter then i can sell my 0. Still thinking...

Somewhat related - over the weekend I hung in my personal warmest temps yet - low of 70 overnight and light rain

With nothing underneath I was a tad chilled - I threw the UQ protector under me and that worked perfect for me at that temp - used my 45-50 degree rated TW (Shenandoah quilt from JRB) and felt perfect.

I think if one in mid 60's I would need my UQ (it's 20 degree 3/4) and use it vented.

Hung Saturday night in Milledgeville, GA, near the Lower Oconee River. 68 for the low. I was super comfortable with my Loco Libre Cayenne Pepper 3.6 Apex UQ. Just used fleece for the TQ, didn't really need it though.

-I'm a big fan of the LL Cayenne Pepper 3.6 for summer too. It's a little heavy (mine is 1 lb. 5 oz.) and bulky too since it's synthetic, but it's nice to have just in case temp. drops and I don't have to worry too much about getting wet (kept me warm in the low 50's even after getting wet during a summer storm because I was using tarp that was too small a too). It's also got snaps to turn it into a bivy sac, which would come in handy if ever (God forbid) I had to go to ground. [/I]

We have hit the 20's, mid to upper, almost every year for at least 1 of the nights at the Annual Florida Hangs/HangCon with the record low being 23*. The 20* quilts are perfect.
