    Hanging stuff on ridgelines

Just curious about what people hang on their ridgelines. Is your ridgeline structural or just for hanging stuff? Can you even hang stuff on a structural ridgeline, or will that mess with the "structural" part? Do you keep it simple, or does it looks like inspector gadget?

I just keep my watch in mine. And a small bag that I put my kindle and cell phone in.

Aragorn: Gentlemen, we do not stop 'til nightfall.
    Pippin: What about breakfast?
    Aragorn: You've already had it.
Pippin: We've had one, yes. What about second breakfast?

Anything in my pockets goes in organizer. That could be just phone and pocket knife. Or a bunch of stuff. Ball cap clips to riff line also.

-extra gloves in winter for later in the night
-dirty damp socks from the days hike

I hang just about anything that fits on it.

Not sure if structural or not makes any difference.

What organizer do you use? I've been looking for one to get.

I have my ridgeline organizer that holds any thing that's in my pockets and my knife also a book if I am reading one. I have a small little battery operated red light I use in the dark to find anything I may drop in my hammock attached to my ridgeline on a prussic knot. I also hang my headlamp off my ridgeline in case I need it for those late night tree waterings. Everything else go's in the pocket on the inside of my hammock by my head.
As long as you aren't trying to hang small children or pet's off your ridgeline your fine. Well I guess it does depend on what your ridgeline is make of. Mine is zing-it.

The red light is such a great idea. I may have to do that next time.

I got my structural ridgeline as part of the hammock from Dutch. I think its amsteel.

Just the one that came with my Dream Hammock. My diy hammock has one from Wilderness Logic on it I think.

I would suggest making your own ridgeline organizer, its very simple and fun. Also if you want something else to store your gear, buy a Peak bag.

I wish I could sew and I would make my own.

    What is a peak bag?

Hanging stuff from the Structural RL is fine as long as the weight on there is not super crazy....like many multiple pounds. For things that would fit in your RL organizer are fine, head lamp, glasses, and so on are not going to be enough to affect the RL and your hang in any way. Load it up with your Kettle bell set and it might start affecting your hang.
