Looks like a great time.
Can anyone fill me in on what cooler corn is?
And even better, how do you make it?

Shuck the corn, put it in a couple of layers in a cooler and cover it with boiling water... that was my understanding. Stays hot f.o.r.e.v.e.r! People were still diving back in after we waited out a storm threat for an hour and a half.
Similar trick with chicken is to cook quarters partially on the grill and keep adding it in layers to a cooler [foil between layers]. It will just keep on cooking from the heat and stay juicy. Once you have enough for everybody, you just slick it with BBQ sauce and run it off quickly on a really hot grill to sear the sauce. Everybody get to eat closer to the same time.
Great tricks for feeding a hang crowd.

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a shot.
Gotta love learning something new everyday.

Maybe the perpetrators will chime in on here with how long it needs to sit initially, but that was the jist.
I could see it working with 'taters-in-foil... the cooler time would keep them from scorching on the outside before being cooked through.

The corn is cooked in about 30-45mins and will stay hot for at least 4 hours. Like Jerry said the corn as still warm to eat the next morning, so it stayed warm for over 12. You could also throw in a couple sticks of butter and some salt if you want while the corn is cooking (I prefer to add stuff to the corn after its cooked and in case someone else doesn't want buttered corn)

To me nothing beats husk off grilled corn with garlic butter but I will be making cooler corn for an event this weekend. It saves grill real estate and it's a fun novelty that everyone enjoys.

===> The Cooler Corn was amazing! Got my Chefy Brain thinking about a lot of other ways to use the cooler as a cooking tool. Other veggies, meats, fishes...this should be a load of fun! Steaming, too.
Couldn't get pictures to upload properly so here's the next best thing.
Just random pics and 1 vid before the storm.
