Heading to Goat Lake for 1 night, then on to Twin Lakes for 2. Trail reports indicate snow in some areas. Perfect!

My wife and I got chased out of our campsite by a griz there many many years ago. Not that exact spot but just south of Waterton lake.
I camped the last week of June around the East side of Glacier, some in Belly River, not far from Waterton. Hiked about 80 miles and stayed in 3 backcountry sites. I was able to hang in the designated campsites 2/3 nights. A little unnerving hanging at times due to the bear presence, but they seemed to keep out of the campsites. The rangers are great, but enforce the rules (as they should). I was unable to traverse a number of mountain passes due to snow. Late July/early September is prime hiking season as the trails are clear, but I'm glad I missed the associated crowds. It was busy enough while I was there.
