Taking a trip

Hey everybody!

I tried looking online and searching on here but I couldn't really find the answers I was looking for. Here in a little bit, I'm taking a trip up from Kansas to Michigan. I'm looking for a place in between to set up for a night stop. Was looking for someplace either in Missouri along I-70 or I-72, Or in Iowa along I-35 or I-80, Or in Illinois along I-55 or I-57.

Also we will be staying around Thompsonville MI. A bunch of family staying in a little house. That is about 30 miles SW of Traverse City. Is there a place I can string up close to there that anybody knows about. Doesn't have to be real nice, just looking for a place to sleep well.

Thanks a bunch! I figured there were enough minds on here to make easier sense of it than what I was figuring out.

And then I just saw the sticky for Hammock friendly campsites.... I'll be checking that out first...

Looked at the sticky and saw something that might work but it is a little close to the start.Would love to have a better halfway point and also looking for what is available in Michigan. So... what'cha got?!?!
