So the continuous loop is run through itself below the bunched end of the hammock? Do you leave it there when packed up or remove it each time? Any reported issues of the hooks failing?

I have simple gathered-end hammocks with a continuous loop run through the end channels. I have never removed the continuous loops. The Dutch whoopie hook then connects to the continuous loop. I'm 5'11" and 165 lbs. and have been using whoopie hooks since they came out about 4 or 5 years ago - no failures and nothing but happy with their performance.

I just got them for my NX-270. They simply slip through where the rope did, go through ach other, and the hook clips on. I will leave them on so as not to have to rethread them. Total conversion time less than 10mins including playing with the new bits.
On my diy hammocks i have a bunched end warbonnet style, once weighted the cont loop will not move unless you want it off. Whoopie hooks are great, had them a year, I weigh 225lbs, no problems.

Not sure if I can explain this well but I thread the whoopie hook onto the continuous loop on both sides of my gathered ends. This way, I only need two hooks to attach to different types of suspension system based on my need. When hiking I usually bring two whoopie sling and one cinch buckle to cover most situations.

I have used whoopie hooks and still have them. They were my first suspension. I've been trying different suspensions and haven't used the whoopies in a while. Not to say I won't go full circle back to them at some point. CL stay attached to the bunched ends of the WB BB
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Whoopie hooks are great. They work really well. I don't like using whoopies themselves though.

Oh, so the cont. loop goes through the channel in the gathered end of the hammock and then through itself.
I have a lark's head on the continuous loop that runs through my end channels, Whoopie Hooks on the continuous loop on a whoopie sling. I weigh 210#. Easy, happy, strong setup. The Ti whoopie hook appears to be the strongest component in the suspension line.
I do leave the Whoopie Slings and the Whoopie Hooks on them on the hammock when packing up.
HYOH. All the best,
