The diamond loops are also handy as shown below. I have 11' and 12' ridgeline tie-outs. The diamond loops allow me to easily switch between when needed. Here you can also see that the ucr is butting right up against the wasp and there is not much more slack at the other end.

For example, this setup with an 11' tarp just barely fits the one set of trees in my yard that I prefer to use. As the photo above shows, my mini-ucr's are just under 4". ANY longer won't work.
The standard hanging distance between trees would be what 13 to 15 ft? So that give's you minimum around 12 inches on each side to deal with if your tarp is centered. But yeah, it would be cutting it close on a 12 ft distance.

Keep in mind that the hook and wasp won't be right up against the tree. A mini "vee" is created at each end resulting in more distance used. It all adds up. Keeping it as short as possible may just open opportunities that otherwise wouldn't exist.

I took ideas from this thread and added them to my new tarp.

Didnt make a crl as I prefer a split ridge line. Its worked great so far and the guy lines a so easy to adjust compared to prusik's.
