Oh yeah, my outdoor hammock time is pretty much over now until fall. I don't care how many fans I have on my ridgeline or how wet I get before I go to bed, I am still covered in sweat in 10 minutes. Not a fun time.

Hammock Acronyms
"The older I get, the more I appreciate my rural childhood. I spent a lot of time outdoors, unsupervised, which is a blessing." Barbara Kingsolver
As long as my bedtime temp is 75* F or below, I'm fine. Here in NJ, we only have a couple of months (July and August) where that's a potential issue.
"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." Ralph Waldo Emerson
I'm living on my sailboat. In the summer time after work, the temps down below are higher then the outside temp. I have all the ports open, tarps to keep the sun off the deck, fans running down below... I can manage as long as I sit in front of the fan or do the bug spray and sit out in the cockpit. I work outside all day so I can't wait for fall!

I don't have any issues laying in the hammock. It provides a breeze that is hard to get elsewhere. It's the dang hike to my destination that is the issue. Is summer over yet?
How do you like living on the sailboat? I thought about doing something similar but it turns icy here in Knoxville, TN
I like it but prefer fall/winter best. I have heat but no a/c

BackpAcking in Ca is going strong, headed to the eastern Sierras to section hike the JMT tomorrow morning for 4 days. At home temp 115 in Temecula, Ca - Thousand Island Lake above Mammoth at 8000 feet, high of 70 low of 40!!!!
There are perks to living in East TN. We get the heat but we can go up in altitude, usually have steady breezes, lots of lakes, creeks, rivers, etc. Still, a hot muggy night doesn't let one sleep well and a decent mosquito net cuts down on the cooling breezes. Still, it I worth it if only to be outside having an adventure rather than sitting home.
