    Whoopie hook-to-mule tape??

Does anyone have any experience grabbing 1/2" mule tape with a whoopie hook? I'm building a new hammock and have decided to run mule tape thru the end channel and was thinking of putting a whoopie hook on a UCR. I have two main concerns 1: the hook will grab the tape in the same place all the time, 2: the hook will be in the same place in the loop on the UCR all the time.
Anyone have any opinions on this sort of set up?
    Good luck,

I think it will work. You might get more durability with amsteel 1/8, 7/64, or spyderline. One eighth would be strongest--does that even fit whoopie hook? I look forward to seeing your setups as they are clean, lightweight and effective.

Are you making the mule tape into a loop loose in the channel or is it fixed? If it's a loose CL, you can always move it an inch or so to keep a fresh anchor point.

As far as the Whoopie Hook at the end of an eye, I might suggest airline tubing from aquariums to possibly make the bend radius a little wider and give a little more cushin. This may be too much material to go thru the Hook and allow a line inside it though.

Good luck on the new setup.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Thank you PG. I still haven't committed to anything yet and was to busy today to fiddle will it, I'm gonna have to watch a couple more of your videos and look for some inspiration.

I plan to run the mule tape thru the end channel then sew or tie it into a loop. If I tie it, that means I've given up on the whoopie hooks but if I sew it there are a couple of directions I could go in, just need time to play with it. Thanks your your help.
    Good luck,
