Soldier Lakes in Sequioa National Park

I am planning a trip this summer from Horseshoe Meadow to Onion Valley along the PCT, including a summit of Whitney. I want to sleep in my Hammock every night. I have been to Crabtree before and I know I can hang there, but I'm not so sure about Soldier Lakes. Has anyone been there and can tell me if it has adequate trees? Soldier lakes is about 3 miles west of New Army Pass. It's name shows up on Tom Harrison Maps, but not on USGS maps.

You might need to break out some hanging to rocks skills for that one. The scenery is free from trees with elevations over 12k. That is just map scanning though, I've yet to hike that section.
Happy Trails to one and all.

Soldier Lakes is at 10720 feet. I looked at some pictures online. I see some trees around the lake but I'm not sure there are enough for 3 hangers, which is the number in my group. I suppose if we need to, we can descend down to some trees if needed.

The next night we will stay at Crabtree, which is 10640. I have been there before and know that there are adequate trees. We will stay there 2 nights because of our summiting Whitney.

The next night will be near Tyndall creek at 10880 feet. I can see pictures of the ranger station online and the trees look adequate. If anyone has experience hanging there, I would like to hear.

After that, we will camp and Bubbs Creek which is around 10k and appears to have good trees.

The last night will be at Flower Lake just above Onion Valley. Pictures online show what look like adequate trees.

I will not be on this trip until the end of August. I will post a trip report with pictures of the hang spots when I return.

I am researching the same thing for a trip this summer (2017). Did you ever go and can you let me know where you were able to hang along this route?
