I just got my Kickstarter Luminoodle last week. Got the colors and the battery for it. Can't wait to take them out next week!

I bought a 10' one last summer and love it. It's bright as hell and works well for lighting up the entire camp. A bit bright for a ridgeline unless you want a lot of light. Cool regardless.

I've got the original, 10ft along with two new ones at 5 foot with color along with the long 20 footer with color. They have remove. The long ones needs special 12v battery or wall adapter/car adapter. They are fantastic! I used under my tarp and on top of my tarp for some fun lighting in the woods. Haven't used the color one much yet but plan to soon. They are very bright. Not the greatest for backpacking unless you are fine carrying a little extra weight and battery. THe bag they come in doubles as a lantern bag so you can use the light as a double purpose.

Either way, I use one of my 5 footers on my mantel for decorative light, very cool looking.

I dig the kickstarter thing; I've backed a few and haven't been disappointed, but these don't do it for me....seems kinda "anti-woodsy?"

I wonder how it is we have come to this place in our society where art and nature are spoke in terms of what is optional, the pastime and concern of the elite?

I like to light up my campsite. Don't plan on taking it backpacking but for car camping, it's fun.
