    IN > Tecumseh Trail > March 11-12, 2016

Well, we made it home. Boy what a trip. We set out to thru hike the trail but rain and storms cut us short. We hiked north to south and completed 31 miles. 15 mikes the first day. We saw some cool areas:

This was just before the rock shelter area.

Here we are at the rock shelter

It had rained a ton all week before we got up there. Friday morning, we had to adjust our car drops because the creeks were out of their banks. We probably crossed 25 creeks along the entire trail.

The first night, we stayed at the Fox Den Shelter seen here

There were 3 other hikers there with us. We were all pretty whipped after the first day.

The second day was more of the same, but IMO, tougher because the distance we walked the first day and bigger hills. Here is some shots of the second day:

If there is a downfall to this trail, it's the number of reroutes currently in place and the amount of road walking there is. My advice if setting out to walk this trail is contact the Hoosier Hiking Council for trail information.

We used our Sawyer Minis a bunch for resupplying our water.

Fun trip. Now to plan our next outing. 😀

That's a neat hike. 31 miles before getting cut short sounds like a decent attempt!

We Hiked there the week between Christmas and New Years. and I must say Fox den was a blessing after hiking in rain all day. We finally got a fire going, and dried our most of our stuff.
After a massive thunderstorm that night we hiked out in the dark, and bushed whacked to the car. Again, soaking wet.
The only Easy day was yesterday.
