Anyone do backcountry hunts w/ a hammock?

Post up those pics! How many days do you spend hammock hunting? Any problems that would be resolved by going to ground with a tent? Any advantages? Apologies to any tree huggers who might find this topic off-putting.

A week in my Clark in unending Utah snowstorm.

    Folks,

Please keep this thread focus on your hammock and not your hunting. This is Hammock Forums, not hunting forums.

    Thank you!

I don't understand why it cannot be both as a hammock is a shelter used in plenty of outdoor activities, including hunting. I am wondering how common they are used for this activity. But I removed the other pics per your request. I wonder if the same request would occur if someone posted fishing trip pics posing with trophy trout.

In the backcountry I'm always hunting for the perfect spot to set-up camp.

I've thought about this also and wondered about fabric noise and pack smells that could affect the hunt. A gear hammock would be a necessity I would think for weapons and or other items. My biggest issue would be the pack out if successful, but I suppose a hammock could be improvised into a drag system .

Defintely easier to find a spot to hang than pitch a tent sometimes. But have you used a hammock while hunting?

Can't fathom somebody sitting and taking a steady shot especially at long distance. Lol. Am i going to take a chance at missing a possible record? Nope!

If you got trees you got hammock spots. I don't see why using it on an extended hunting trip would not work.
